Celluloid Dreams The Directors Label

Norwegian director, writer and producer, Bent Hamer’s unique blend of dry, wry humour mixed with often touching, human stories has won him many fans and numerous awards worldwide, including the International Film Critics Prize (FIPRESCI) twice.

His first feature Eggs premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes as well as his third feature, the quirky 2003 charmer Kitchen Stories which made his name internationally reknown. He’s ventured far from the kitchen and Norway for his follow-up movie, “Factotum”, an adaptation of several Charles Bukowski stories set amid the downbeat barflies of America. The movie sees Matt Dillon playing Bukowski’s alter-ego, Hank Chinaski, and also stars Lili Taylor and Marisa Tomei.
