Forceful, super-slick… Robustly directed by Gansel with strong performances from it’s teen ensemble.
VARIETY

Enormous narrative power… Absorbing and chillingly effective… Director Dennis Gansel keeps up the tempo with crisp cuts and a driving, pulsing score, and the tension builds wonderfully as the film barrels toward its jarring conclusion. Torsten Breuer’s camerawork is excellent, with a gritty film quality when appropriate.
AINT IT COOL

Dennis Gansel’s film transposes the extraordinary story of an American high-school experiment to contemporary Germany….“The Wave” makes its point with wit, energy and intelligence
THE RADIO TIMES

The Wave is a compelling allegorical thriller made convincing as we watch through the ambiguity of Wenger and through the sharp characterisation of the students.
THE GUARDIAN

Thought-provoking stuff.
THE DAILY MIRROR

A seductive, button-nudging probe of pack-frenzy mentality…the brawny direction and convincing cast make this a gripping cautionary tale.
TOTAL FILM

The quicksilver editing and thumping score mean it’s zippily put together, and an undeniable willingness to engage with a youthful audience is admirably inclusive.
TIME OUT

As a disturbing indictment of the course that could be taken by disaffected youth, The Wave makes a big splash.
SKY MOVIES

A fascinating notion, convincingly realised.
EMPIRE MAGAZINE

The film is persuasive that fascism can take root in any environment. Strong performances all the way.
TELETEXT

Seductive and horrifying at the same time…The film opens with a rush of energy and doesn’t let up.
